It was a wrestle to persuade them to come back again to our cottage for a braai. We had an excellent day on the Cape Peninsula – we did the penguins last year but didn’t get so far as Cape Point. We walked to the old lighthouse and although it is slightly below a kilometre it is a steep path and certainly will get the heart racing.However, the goal of this tour is to introduce you to the various habitats of the whole Western Cape Province. We do this at a tempo suited to wildlife images, though, and rush round a bit lower than on considered one of our standard birding tours.From Cape Town we made our way to the Winelands where our second go to to Boschendal was just as magical as our first. Our three days had been spent in a happy daze absorbing the sunshine, enjoying delicious meals and sampling fabulous wines. The children made friends at The Treehouse youngsters club the place they went on nature walks and had enjoyable being artistic, making signs for the hen run and posters for an upcoming full-moon picnic.On our means house we took in Scarborough, a coastal town beloved by kite surfers. We had a scrumptious meal at Camel Rock with pizza cooked within the quirky camel-type pizza oven.
